Job Opportunity Announcement SECURITY OFFICER Job #731-1 (Social Services) Open Until Filled Located in the heart of North Carolina's Piedmont, Rowan County is attractively and conveniently nestled between the state's largest city and its Capitol.
Rowan County is made up of more than 20 departments and nearly 1,250 employees that are committed to providing a wealth of services to County residents and businesses.
The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Security Officer.
This position povides security at the Department of Social Services; patrols on foot the building and grounds checking for safety hazards, suspicious activity or persons, and vandalism; maintains order and ensures the safety of staff and the public; greets the public and assists the elderly and/or disabled as needed with mobility; ensures the building is secure and locked at the end of the business day; serves as support and back up to custodian; maintains records and prepares monthly safety reports for submission to management; and coordinates quarterly safety training for staff.
Requires the bility to work effectively with the general public and staff; ability to handle difficult and potentially volatile situations and to respond quickly during emergencies; to compose and prepare reports and documents; and to communicate effectively.
Requires high school diploma and Basic Law Enforcement Training; or high school diploma and one to two years of security or law enforcement experience.
Starting Salary $36,500 - $40,100 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
