We are currently seeking a motivated Full Time Sterilization Assistant/Tech to join our growing team in Salisbury, NC! The Sterilization Assistant collects, cleans, decontaminates, disinfect and/or sterilize instruments, trays and packs, reusable devices, and patient care equipment according to established OSHA and infection control standards and procedures.
Job
Responsibilities:
Ensures that all instruments are properly sterilized and available for clinical use.
Must be compliant with personal protective equipment (PPE) according to OSHA standards and regulations.
Performs decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging and disposing of dental supplies and/or dental equipment with caution and care.
Provides support to clinical staff by maintaining inventory levels of supplies and delivering sterilized instruments to treatment areas to ensure quality of care for our patients.
Sets up for all procedures offered in our offices to aid with the time management and flow of the patient schedule.
Maintains a safe and organized working environment by complying with NC Pediatric Dentistry procedures and protocols.
Maintains care and maintenance of units (flush lines, H20 bottles and tablets, traps, etc.
).
Checks and maintains daily, weekly and monthly duties sheets.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or GED certificate Successful completion of a dental assistant licensing program per state guidelines Additional certification and/or training such as OSHA and CPR desired but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, education, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds Excellent communication and people skills Excellent time management skills Understanding of health & safety regulations Must effectively work as a team member and also function independently Must exercise sound judgment and initiative Must be flexible to shift priorities Professional appearance and attitude.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
