Job Description:
This position is within the Department of Fine Arts. The instructor will be responsible for teaching Art History and Art Appreciation courses to AFA majors as well as to non-majors. Currently the full-time teaching load is 6-7 classes per semester.
This is a 9-month position; faculty are not required to teach during summer months.
Required Education/Experience Skills:
One of the following degrees is required (degree must be earned by May 31, 2014):
PhD (Art History)
MA (Art History)
MFA
MAFA
It is absolutely imperative that applicants be familiar with and supportive of the community college environment, mission, and students.
The career goals of the applicant should be in line with the reality of a community college Fine Arts Department. The applicant's desire to teach must be strong and must incorporate tolerance, patience, and a commitment to diversity and student success.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
- Desire to teach online
- Desire to develop courses, new teaching methods, and otherwise contribute to the Department
- Applicant should be quality-driven, enthusiastic, and eager to be part of a team Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
