Director Platform Engineering Mgmt


Position
Summary:
Responsible for the development, implementation and Level 3 support of Mainframe, Wintel, UNIX and Client platforms, as well as storage.
Structures and ensures adherence to the processes and standards for high-quality development and implementation. Constantly monitors performance of platforms and develops continual improvement programs to bring better quality of service to customers through enhancement recommendations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
o Ensures opportunities are provided for career growth

o Ensures effective associate development plans are in place
o Comfortable working across geographies and a variety of national and corporate cultures
o Able to establish partnerships with peers across geographies to coordinate standard approaches and communications, act as a single team
o Responsible for compliance with internal and external policies such as SOX and PCI
o Ensures the organization adheres to Delhaize policies - company policy.
o Compliance to policy and procedures for Global IT, Regional IT, and local IT
o Compliance to policy and procedures for operating companies serviced
o Establishes partnerships with direct counterparts in other regions to ensure a standardized environment, leverage contract opportunities, and share resources to improve quality and efficiency
o Ensures execution of IT specific Corporate Responsibility initiatives and priorities such as Green IT
o Ensures selection of platforms follows Architecture and Security standards and requirements.
o Structures the technical design of Platform components
o Monitors quality implementation of designed installation from design through testing and release into the production environment
o Works toward repeatability and standardization of processes; facilitates the development of standard software images
o Provides leadership and guidance in project planning, management and reporting for Platforms components
o Ensures proper integration of Platforms components with other parts of the infrastructure
o Manages and plans the implementation of all storage hardware and software components
o Manages availability of resources to ensure timely handling of all Level 3 incidents and problems referred by the Helpdesk and IT Operations
o A minimum of 25% time allocated to travel required within the region
o Approximately 5% to 10% time allocated to travel to other Regions
o Networking, identity management, telephony and collaboration
Basic Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, electrical engineering or business administration
o Eight years' experience managing and/or directing an IT operation
o Five years' experience working in the Retail industry preferred
o Excellent knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
o Superior understanding of the organization's goals and objectives and place in the market
o Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures
o In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to ITExperience in strategic planning, execution, policy development and ITIL
o Expert in requirements gathering, functional design, data and technical architecture
o SDLC and Project/Program management experience
o Extensive experience and expertise in customer-service focused organizations.
o Strong skills in performance monitoring and quality assurance
o Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development.
o Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems
o Exceptional service orientation
o Proven leadership ability

Preferred Qualifications:
o Masters degree preferred.
o 5+ years related retail experience.
o In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to IT
o Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes
o Excellent knowledge of business theory
o Excellent knowledge of business processes
o Excellent knowledge of business management
o Excellent knowledge of budgeting
o Excellent knowledge of business office operations

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
