ITAM Hardware Process Analyst


Position
Summary:
Works with cross functional teams, including internal and external IT partners, Legal, IT Vendor Management and Hardware Requesters to review all hardware contracts. Work with other ITAM members on software licensing requests. Review hardware contracts for purchasing and leasing terms. Review all hardware maintenance contracts and determine the best way to bring this information into service now. Build and execute appropriate communications to stakeholders and executive management on quantities of IP equipment in our IT environment. Make recommendations based on best practices for improvement to the overall Hardware Management process and give input into Software processes. Guides the organization through the Asset Management process and addresses questions as they arise as they pertain to hardware. Also help with ITAM requests for both hardware and software.
Principle Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Implement ITAM process (procedures and policies) and technologies and adhere with ITAM strategy
o Ensure all ITAM activities are implemented as defined in the overall ITAM lifecycle approach
o Negotiating and developing the key measurement of the critical success factors for ITAM
o Execute ITAM components (processes & policies, and SOPs)
o Define standard for ITAM data elements for Hardware
o Provide guidance in usage of the supporting technologies to support ITAM process
o Document gaps between process and technology (if any)
o Assist:
o Receiving process
o Asset tagging
o Asset deployment and related activities
o Deployment, maintenance, retirement and disposal
o Repurpose
o Refresh
o Measure accuracy of in-scope IT asset inventory
o Review ITAM reports and coordinate periodical audit (e.g.: Physical Inventory)
o Assist in the overall ITAM process improvement with ITAM manager
o Contribute documented feedback from stakeholders on the ITAM process & policies and technologies to ITAM Manager as part of the process improvement and technologies enhancement.
o Create customer satisfaction reports to the ITAM manager for strategy planning of overall ITAM maturing process

o Review completeness of ITAM reports based on data elements (e.g.: Asset Owner/BRM, IP address, etc.)
o Manage Leases and get all data importing or keyed into Service Now
o Manage Hardware vendor relationships to make sure we are getting the appropriate ASN data.
o Work with all of our 3rd party vendors and manufacturers to determine any projects that involves installing, retiring, replacing or any part that affects ITAM.
o Keep track of physical locations down to the rack/server and floor level specs of equipment in the data center and possibly other locations.
o Create reporting that determines hardware assets that are not being discovered through the discovery process and work with teams in multiple areas to determine problem resolution to get the items added into ITAM.
o Uploading information into Service Now
o Thorough understanding of ServiceNow modules and environment and understanding of table structures and linkages.
o Understanding of Naming conventions of assets
o Good understanding of hardware contracts
o Obtaining up to data information on IP addresses to make sure we are not missing locations.
o Discover and obtain maintenance information on all hardware assets and import or enter this data into ServiceNow and be able to determine ownership of the assets.
o Create reporting for alerts on maintenance renewals which includes IBM Swama maintenance for operating systems, etc.
o Work with various areas of the company such as IT (all areas), Store Development, Hardware Vendors, 3rd party vendors, etc.
o Assist with any other workload in the ITAM areas which could mean research of software, hardware, and creation of reports.
o Develop retirement and or disposal process for 3rd party vendors into ServiceNow and follow-up by creating metrics to make sure our 3rd party vendors are following our policies and procedures.
o Opening request tickets to the ITIL team to help facilitate CM processes to be automated or create fields in ServiceNow to be filled out by requestors or our 3rd parties when dealing with the ITAM processes (MACDs).
o Verifying inventories between 3rd parties and our records for all assets that fall into ITAM Hardware assets today and any growth assets that have to be added to facilitate our company's needs for PCI or other internal asset tracking needs.
o Work tickets in the ITAM queue regardless of whether the request is for hardware or software
o Help other ITAM team members with research when special projects or requests are received
o Reconcile hardware with other systems such as Tivoli Endpoint Manager and by conducting physical inventories
o Reconciliation of asset inventories hardware and software
o Develop ITAM reports
o Define standard ITAM reporting (Hardware and Software)
o Give guidance on the fulfillment process and how to review inventories before ordering
o Point of contact for ITAM requests and be able to research and resolve requests for hardware and software
o Help maintain the Managed and Approved software list on our ITAM SharePoint site.
o Develop automation of ITAM periodic reports )e.g.: Monthly, Quarterly reports)
o Develop verification and validation plans based on sampling size, date, location and prepared by
o Report verifications and reconciliation to physical inventories
o Document variation reports (as needed)
o Identify gaps of the variation
o Provide input to ITAM Manager for hardware and software process improvements.
Basic
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / or 5
years of equivalent IT experience.
o Minimum 5
years' experience planning and executing projects.
o Minimum 3 - 5
years' experience with Asset Management or Information Technology.
o In-depth knowledge of Asset Management best practices, process, procedures, and tools.
o Broad knowledge of IT systems and technologies and how software licensing should be handled and tracked on each platform.
o Proven experience in understanding how IT architecture is structured on a variety of platforms and how those architectures affect the companies licensing.
o Proven project management experience for both waterfall and agile methodologies. Demonstrated understanding of ITAM.
o Have experience gathering and understanding requirements of why certain pieces of equipment are used and how the maintenance should be handled on new platforms.
o Demonstrated understanding and/or experience with leading Asset Management tools, and processes on how to track hardware and software with both automated and manual tools.
o Advanced skill set in MS Project / MS Excel / MS PowerPoint/ MS Access or SQL databases
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Prior experience with Asset Management tools preferred.
o Prior experience with Software Licensing tools with a good understanding of Licensing scenarios such as user, device, concurrent, Software as a Service, MIPS, MSUs, LPARs and virtual.
o ITIL knowledge/certification preferred.
o Service Now tool experience preferred or demonstrated work experience with other like industry tool suites.
o Prior experience with Asset Management in a Retail Environment preferred.

o Ability to work with organizationally diverse, cross-functional teams.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
