Medical Support Assistant (Inpatient)

The Medical Support Assistant (MSA), position performs clerical/administrative work supporting the care and treatment of inpatients.
The Medical Support Assistant (MSA), Ward Clerk works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model or specialty setting where the team model is used.
The incumbent performs such duties as, but not limited to:
admitting, transferring, and discharging patients in VISTA/CPRS, maintaining patient files, verifying and acting on physician orders, reception of patients and their families, coordinating interdisciplinary team communication, scheduling post hospitalization follow up, data entry into VISTA/CPRS.
Inpatient units supported by ward administration include:
general medical, surgical, intensive care, pre-operative assessment, post anesthesia care, psychiatry, substance abuse treatment, short term rehab, long term care and hospice units.
The medical support assistant (MSA) Ward Clerk position has a pivotal role within the inpatient interdisciplinary team.
Inpatient care is delivered in a team based model.
Members of the team include the Ward Clerk, Physicians, Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, Patient Care Coordinators, Staff Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse and Certified Nursing Assistants.
The team works collaboratively with other members of an expanded health care primary care team including pharmacists, social workers, dieticians, behavioral health staff, etc.
to provide a robust interdisciplinary approach to care.
The Ward Clerk is able to independently manage position responsibilities with little supervision as well as set priorities and deadlines adjusting the flow and sequencing of the work to meet team and patient needs.
Work Schedule:
VARIOUS.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
